To combat the use of poorly reflecting backgrounds for number plates and also the use of football crests and car manufacturer logos, new legislation and a new british standard has been introduced. A plain white background for the front and plain yellow for the rear is requird with the only deviation being the euro flag and blue strip at the L.H.S.
